Restorative Dental Treatment
Restorative dental treatment is the treatment of hard tissue loss that occurs in the tooth due to caries or non-carious reasons. During the treatment of tooth tissue loss, special materials called fillings are applied in accordance with the anatomy of the tooth instead of the existing decay or tooth tissue loss.
Amalgam fillings, popularly known as black fillings in the old days of dentistry, are rarely used today or have been abandoned by many physicians. Amalgam fillings have been replaced by composite fillings that are more aesthetic, more natural and tooth-colored. Composite fillings made in accordance with the appropriate conditions and rules can remain in the mouth for many years if the patient pays attention to oral hygiene.
One of the most frequently asked questions by our patients is "Will I feel pain during filling?" The answer to this question is that there will be no pain even without anesthesia in superficial tooth decay. If the existing decay is deep, the restoration of the tooth can be completed painlessly with composite filling with a simple local anesthesia.
Caries detected in the early period can be easily treated with simple composite fillings without the need for further treatment. This shows us the benefits of regular dental check-ups.
One of the most frequently asked questions by our patients is the nutritional status immediately after the filling. If anesthesia was not administered during the filling, should my patient be fed immediately after the filling?
